My yoga journey started in 2017 when I just had moved from Germany to California. There was a hot yoga studio right at the intersection where I was driving every day and it was like a magnet, calling me in. I went to a Bikram class at 110° and I was hooked. When I moved to Aiken in 2021, first thing I did was join the community of Aiken Yoga. After some traumatic losses in 2022, I discovered that Yoga is more than just the physical movement. It’s the path to re-connecting to yourself. It helps you understanding who you are in revealing all the emotions and trauma you might have and hold. It teaches you to face discomfort, breathe through it, befriend the pain and accept yourself for who you are. I always tell my students that yoga is not a work-out, it’s a work-in. It’s the invitation to connect to yourself, through your breathing. Listen to your body (physical, emotional, spiritual) and give it what it needs today.
I learned that healing happens when you slow down and reconnect – to yourself and then with one another.
My favorites are slow flows to yin to wind down but I also enjoy hot vinyasa flows. And that’s the beauty of Yoga. There is something for everyone and for every mood. And the path of learning never ends and I can`t wait to dive deeper into the world of yoga and keep studying. I just finished my Thai Yoga Bodywork Certification and look forward to incorporate that into my daily life as a yoga teacher as well.
Off the mat, I also enjoy spending time with my kids, my horses and my dogs. Go to the gym or hiking. Kap kun ka
